So I am sitting in my sled with just key on messing with radio and I can hear the fan motor running real low mind you but running even though everything is shut off .WTF
You didn't say what year the car was... but on cars newer than 1974 (and someone correct me, I'm only going from memory) the blower fan will run as a precautionary standard.... This was to make sure fumes didn't enter the car.
So it won't matter what speed the switch is in, the blower will still turn.

Lowest setting on the fan control is low. To turn the fan off move the top slider all the way left to the off position. To just listen to the radio use the accessory key position (counter clockwise turn) not on/run position.

Really ,never would have thought about that .Are u just messing with me ?
I don't know what year car you have. My 1975 fan does not run all the time the switch is on, but it does run on low if the a/c is on, even with the engine not running.

When I posted last night I was going with what I thought I remembered as how the fan switch behaved and didn't go out to the car to verify. It seems after actual observation this morning that when you move the slider to off it just locks out the speeds higher than low and in fact the fan still runs at low. Regardless it's not a good idea to leave the ignition switch in the on/run position without the engine actually running for extended periods just to mess with the radio, that is what the accessory position is for and the fan doesn't run in that position.
Put a ball valve inline to shut off flow to the heater core.
Outlet of the water pump, top hose. 3/4" IIRC.
I used a 1/4 turn stainless ball valve. Has a big handle, but you can take it off, or get a valve with a smaller handle.
Search "heater core shutoff" or "heater core bypass valve" and a combination of those words and you'll have enough reading to keep you busy, lol
