Paul, you have a 4.185" bore with a 3.875 stroke don't you?

Larger bores help small block heads breath better. Although .060" doesn't seem like much, every little bit helps.

The biggest difference is the Motown block will accept a 4 in. crank with no clearancing.
The second is the Motown has all 5 mains 4 bolt with the inner three splayed.
And you can order billet steel main caps. Making it a solid base to build a high HP engine.

I believe those numbers.. you have a bit more cam, a few more cubs and 1 size up on the heads.. other than that you have my build... I'm at 650
last Dyno was 525 at the rear wheels..

It has been a long process, now that I have located a dyno facility near my house, it will happen soon.

Default Check out white performance

I have had 427 sb for about a year now. Built by white performance in Tennessee, they had the best prices I've found if you're looking at create engine, they also have a two year warranty. Mine has dart black, eagle 4340 crank, eagle h beam rods, mahl pistons, comp cams hyd. Roller .598 lift/ 110 valve separation, comp cams rockers, afr 220 heads, edelbrock super victor, and Holley 850 xp. Makes 670hp/610tq on 91 octane @ 10.25to1. It is very fun to drive on the street.

This is a very old post. I've been driving that 427 for a couple of months and I can't imagine building any other small block now. Very similar to your build. AFR220 heads, Howards hydraulic roller 243/231. Doesn't feel like 670 HP although I haven't revved it past about 5500 rpm. What are your cam specs, and what rpm are you at when you see 670 HP?
