Wanted to share my excitement with a successful install of a TBI system using all factory parts. Just fired it up about an hour ago, turned right over and started purring along. Only surprise was a bad coolant sensor - with that replaced, everything went well. No check engine light, dashboard on TunerPro all showed good.
I've been putting together an indepth writeup of my conversion for others to use as all info I could find left seemed to gloss over major parts.
For now, here is a short video of it idling along, right after I got the coolant sensor replaced. Idle is a little low, I adjusted that later in the computer.
Good eye on the manifold. All factory parts from the salvage yard. Only new parts are the fuel pump and sender, oxygen sensor, and fuel filter.
I'm running a 16197427 from a 94 Tahoe. I opted for that over a 1227427 because of the higher data rate (160 is REALLY slow). It can also run a Tuned Port system if I ever end up going that route.
