Its a faulty headlight switch, they are sending a new one. Plunger goes in to far and does not lock in. Thanks for all the help.

If you are referring to the **** shaft NOT being able to go in and LOCK when you have the headlight switch is installed.,...BUT it works perfectly when you have it out in your hand.

I have encountered this MANY MANY times and it is not the switch...so-to-speak. It just requires the person to move the headlight switch a little bit up or down or to the side so the pointed end of the shaft can index.

Just letting you know due to you can move the switch a little bit and that is all that it takes to get the **** to lock in....because you can get another switch and still have the same problem. It works PERFECTLY when it is in your hand...but not when you secure it in the dash panel.

Yea appreciate that and I tried that and still nothing plus it went it to far compared to old with so when mounted in the dash it would even come close to trying to lock in and also the headlights would not come on with the new switch they came up but no lights only running lights. So I called the company and they said definitely faulty. It never would lock in just in my hand.

New question. The wipers did not work so I removed the motor and bench tested and it works fine. When I hook it back up to the car just holding it in my hand it just clicks and won't come on and yes I have it grounded will and pushed the safety button in for the cowl.

Assuming that you have it grounded.

Then this is quite simple.

IF you had it on a bench and had your power and grounds going to it and you got it to go into low speed, high speed and then back into park...then you know what it takes to make it do that. And if your car wiring is NOT doing what oyu knwo it takes to get the wiper motor to work...then those non functioning circuit or circuits need to be repaired.

No one her can tell you what to do due to you need to get your car wiring to do what you did when you need tested it.
