'69 Fender Emblem Location Confusion...
...and AIM inconsistency?
I'm preparing to layout the holes on new fenders for the "Stingray" emblems and have a few questions:
- The AIM drawing has what appears to be three datum/reference lines labeled "+5", "15" and "O" and I can't seem to find what their points of reference are.
- Assuming that datum "15" represents the horizontal crease line in the fender, how is its exact location determined? Seems ill-defined to me since it's actually a fairly large radius.
- Finally, unless I'm missing something, it looks like the AIM drawing has an inconsistency with one of the dimensions (see picture circled in red).

The point of reference is the line on the side fender above the gill openings. We took these measurements off a 1976 original front end. But this is not the same as your car and we took our measurements off the cove opening not the horizontal line. Darn shame we had an original 69 in the shop a few weeks back, I'm not sure when it's coming back in.

Hi CU,
The dimensions do add up.
The dimension you circled changes because on one side (left) it's locating the script's FIRST stud and on the other side (right) the script's LAST stud.
There's a .10" dimension noted that makes up the difference.
Regards,
Alan
