700r4 no go

has been performing well up until now.
went for a week long holiday last week and have now lost 3rd and OD.
felt like it wanted to stall when you pulled up at a intersection, also pulled the revs down when you went from "P to D".
sort of "bunny hop", like if you didn't push the clutch in in a manual.
wouldn't change up unless you blipped it, or competely took foot off throtle and reapplied.
felt like it haddn't changed back down, stuck in 3rd, when you went to take off, sluggish.
oil level correct, BTO carb linkage/adjuster set correct with pressure gauge as per BTO reccomendations.
oil looks clean and doesn't smell burnt.
has B&M torque converter lockup controller, engages at about 85kph (53mph).
am going to remove it this coming weekend, and take it back to rebuilder, but thought id ask here what could be wrong?
i have recently completed a engine rebuild, 410hp/405ftlbs. have i broke something with the extra torque?
box was rebuilt "heavy duty" before i put it in.
still have the t400, but want the lower revs the 700r4 gives on long cruises.

Oil was dripping from rear end when I had a look underneath when I stopped.

That helps a lot. Back in 2010 through 2012 all of the TH700R4 filters had defective seals on their necks and after being subjected to heat the seals shrunk so bad they quit sealing and the pump began sucking in air. That caused a huge reduction in pressure which allowed the 3/4 clutches to burn up. I finally solved the problem by removing the filter's orange seal and installing three 3/32" Viton o-rings on the neck. I'm betting your 3/4 clutches are burned up. But be sure to tell the shop about the defective filter seals as your filter may have come with one.

just got of the phone with the trans rebuild shop, the torque converter crapped it's self internally....
the lockup clutch thrust bearing failed and metal went thru the pump and rest of the box.
the shop is rebuilding the box for free as it's a component failure outside of my control that they supplied originally.
when i put the 700r4 in originally, i took it to them to check the cable was adjusted properly and that i had good line press.
even tho it's nearly 3yrs ago, they realise i've only done about 8000k's (5000 miles) as it's not a daily driver.
will buy them a carton of
for xmas.
[just kidding, mech/tech's...but you know there's a bunch of cheats in the business]

he's flat out busy this side of xmas, so no guarantee that it will be ready before then.
then i have to tee it up with my mechanic mate with his workshop so i can put it back in... not sure when he closes for xmas...
bad time of the year, with everything shutting down.
just ordered a new oil cooler from Summit last night, easier than trying to clean the metal out the old one,
with shipping, not due here till 27th dec - 3rd jan...
that's the problem being on the other side of the world... everything takes time
