Stupid topics

Also your post is a repeated topic:

I think most posts are at least car related. I tried to go 'Off Topic' but it burned me out. A few post here and there about not specifically about C-3 tech issues keeps it interesting. Again, this one being a good example.

I skip the stupid stuff but I feel that friendly chit chat and occasional silly tension breaking chime ins help to distinguish our real life personalities better than slipping into our long white tech coats and seeing how tightly we can clench a pressure guage between our butt cheeks while we discuss C3 technical mumbo jumbo.
This is a 24 hour 7 day a week C3 meet. We laugh, we cry, we discuss tech sh¡t.
Maybe a fourth board within the C3 forum is a good idea but rather than 'C3 tech' howa bout 'C3 OT' since imho C3-centric OT subjects seem to get burried in genral OT or answered with comments like "cut your mullet" or "buy a C5" or NCRS no no fingers its too much of a pissing contest sometimes...
I know the C3 guys best and when I want to share something I feel is important to me its usually with them. I LOVE YOU GUYS :cry :p: :D
...I dunno, thats mho.

See, we're just happy to be here no matter whats said. :)
About not wanting to switch between two forums, are you guys really that lazy!?!?!?!?!? It takes all of 2 SECONDS to switch forum areas. Hey, you can even open up two windows - one technical and one general if you want to quickly switch back and forth. I normally read the C4 tech forum, C3 forum, the C3/C4 for sale forums, and sometimes the C6, C5, and OT forums all at the same time! I just open up a window for each, scroll down through the topics opening up the ones I'm interested in a new window. After I finish each forum, I close it and go to the next, etc. After that, I already have all the topics I'm going to read open and loaded ready for me to read. It's not that hard.
I for one would really like to see a seperate technical and general area for the C3.

We have had cat, dog, spider, lawn grub, etc. posts but what harm does it do? Just do not read if you are not interested: you are not paying for the bandwidth ;) . I do enjoy readings of the other interests of members. Chat room; I do not know, never go there. Entertaining and informative? Yes!
BTW, my cat says Hello to Members!

ive seen it mentioned here that some of us "dont have time to read the 2nd or 3rd page...well, guess what?! if the subjects dont interest you because they are off topic it seems to me that you could go thru 3 or even 4 pages in a snap by only reading the posts that you consider worthy...
it is 100 times easier to do that than to have multi rooms...i think that a blind man could see that!
besides...it would be a nightmare to decide sometimes what room to put a post in...
sure usually it is obvious...but what about those subjects that are in the grey area? like..."i wrecked my 69 today" or "i picked up my transmission yesterday" etc...
are those off topic? or does it have to be a question to qualify?
much to complicated to post and to read...
i say just scroll down the subject line and if your not interested...dont click...
and ill bet you have time to go thru 5 pages...
its really that simple...why complicate it?
just my 2 cents...
I'd rather have them seperated by subject as well as for clarity reasons. When skimming topic titles, it's easy to miss things that might interest you when there are 100s that don't.
The C4/C5 forums that are split don't really seem to have major problems with poeple posting in the wrong section. Things such as engines, transmissions, and physically working on your car in general are technical questions. What's your favorite color, I wrecked my car, do you like my pet monkey topics are general. Pretty simple in my opinon.

Many people come here ALOT and it turns into more than just a place to ask and answer questions. We kind of know each other and there's more to life than cars so we post about it. Posting in off topic is posting to a completely different group of people.
Splitting the C3 area would just make it more difficult to surf and it would not stop off topics being posted. After all, any off topics posted here are meant for the readers of this area. If they are put in another area it would be the same as posting in off topic - not the same group. All it would do is make those who don't posess the will power to skip over a post happy.
As far as the post count being higher for OT subjects. Ah, well ya - what do you expect? An OT or non tech post is a conversation where people add opinion. Everybody has one of them. A tech question post has an answer. Once somebody posts the answer, are the rest of us supposed to reiterate it over and over? Question posted, anser given, done.
As far as tech posts that don't get answers...
Most likely it means no one who looked at it knows the answer. Why answer a tech question if you don't know the answer? Twinnies post about rims is a perfect example. The people who have viewed it don't know what rims they are. Should all the viewers post that they don't know?
In short, this is the best C3 resource out there. LEAVE IT TO HELL ALONE!
thats totaly ridiculous...
are we really going to have to have another poll to prove once and for all that most of us like it the way it is...
whos gonna start it this time? any takers?
