Stupid topics
but i think a large part of it is that people are bored, and alot of time only like to talk with other C3-ers. Cant blame em!

Let me say that again...
My car wouldn't be running without the forum.

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Maybe you need to blame the lurkers....
If you look at the main C3 page you will see a thread 27 posts to a topic that has 248 views.
And that is the serious posts.. Not OT stuff....
So you can't say that the OT stuff is killing your viewing pleasure. It is the lack of replies to the tech topics, without replies they will slip off into oblivion...
But you need to remember the most important rule of all:
All Work and no Play, Makes Jack A dull Boy :smash:
Lighten up a little and don't be afraid to smile :D
oh boy im starting to ramble,,,,,,sry :D
Engine & Upgrades has been really really slow too :(
Off-Topic has assimilated all the forums

re: slow on engine tech talk... damn economy
5.1 is NOT similar to 5, it;'s non silicone bsaed so the name is kind of confusing. SuperDOT4 says it better :)
See.. now this has turne into somewhat of a good topic too :p:
I don't mind the stupidity, I think most of it is funny too but if it overwhelms and the true C3 topics are dropping like bricks, that's a shame.
I read about everything, what else am I going to do w/ my time :D

Lord knows im as guilty as anybody of this...
ie...my stepdad dying...
my brother crashing his C-5...
i could name a few others too...as im sure some you could...
but i also post alot of relevant questions too and for some reason this forum has a "family of friends" atmosphere to it and i for one really enjoy that...
i know that when i ask a question or request advise, the guys that reply to me kinda know me in a strange sense of the word...and i feel comfortable with that...
the other thing is that there is sometimes a fine line between on topic and off topic...
ie...my post on the shop i built to work on my car...
hhhmmm...is that REALLY a C-3 topic?
well....kinda...
i for one like it the way it is and wonder if we got too strict about it that there would be too many topics that are close to that fine line and some good topics would not be posted...
hhhmmm...by the way, great topic!
I have always been a proponent for two C3 sections: Tech and General. Look at the number of posts in this single section compared to other sections on the forum. I never have time to read posts on the second C3 page. I have also experienced little or no response to some tech questions on occasion, likely because they are bumped off the main page. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the fun C3 BS’ing, but the tech stuff is invaluable. With two sections, we can have the best of both worlds.

I think the 2 split forums would be a good idea too. Also, if you have 2 forums the topics on both forums won't drop as fast as they do now. I frequently see archived stuff that one can't reply to yet iwould like to add some stuff to or discussions that ended 1/2 way.

That thread was near death (bottom of page) before it got molested :yesnod:
I remember a time when a performance/tech topic would come up and there was like a competition amongst posters to put in there 2 cents before the other guy or to correct or critique someone else's post. It produced quick, complete responses. I don't see this happening as much now. Maybe I'm not looking at the right threads, I dunno.
