Default Power window rebuild

Question for all you corvette geniuses. I’m working on the power windows. Working directly from the motor the drivers side goes up slowly about 3/4. Passenger side wouldn’t move, stuck in the down position. I’m going to rebuild one side at a time and I started at the passenger side. I was able to give it bursts of power while pushing up the window from the bottom at the same time. Doing this I was able to get the window up to where I could get at the two attaching bolts. Removed the window and retested the motor. Motor now goes up and down no problem with no window weight on it. The tracks looked clear, no built up gunk. Rollers are shot/loose were probably binding/stuck in track. Pulled out motor and regulator assembly. Spring isn’t broken. Everything looks original - window, motor, regulator. I’m going get new rollers and grease the tracks. Should I replace the motors? Are the remanufactured ones any good? Is there anyway to test these motors. I mean they’re 50 years old and I dont feel like tearing it apart six months from now!! Also what grease do you guys use for the tracks? Anything else I should do since the doors are all stripped out? Should I remove the door linkage and grease that up or can I do it attached to the door?

Thanks for the help again guys. I wouldn’t be able to get through this build without all the help!! Doing the wiring now so I’ll have lots more questions!!!

Using photos from Mikes thread.

This is what the inside of your motors can look like.

If the rollers were shot can cause binding....it could have caused the problem you had to get the motor to get the window to go up.

You can get new motors....if you do not want to rebuild yours or at least look at them.

Took mine to a rebuilder
said they were fine.
Concentrated on the spring and slides.
They move fast now

Excellent job of turning the commutator and trimming back the mica.
v2racing and Dub may be the last of the professional mechanics.
