Default Which Headlight Bulbs Will Allow Fiber Optics to Function

Can anyone suggest a few bulbs that they know will work?

Thanks. Good price too. I was hoping to be able to pick them up at the autoparts store.

Hi P,
When installing the new bulbs be aware that originally there was a little black plastic 'sleeve' that bridged the gap from the headlight to the electrical connector.
It's purpose was to insure that the connector gathered all the available light for the fiber optic cable.
There were 4 of them.
They've often been lost.
Regards,
Alan

The 'sleeve' in place.

If you are a little creative - you can make even a replaceable bulb type headlight work.

Bosch High Beam
Drill hole to fit fiberoptic - IIRC it was 1/8"

Fiberoptic plugs right in

Rubber dust/water shield holds it in place-

Thanks Alan. Yeah, I saw that in another post. I think someone made them from vacuum tubing. I'm going to try that.

Advance carries their 1157. No sealed beams though. I ordered them through Wilcox.

I replaced the low beams on my 69 with Eiko brand from O'Reilly's.
Fiber optics works fine with them.

Our lamps have the fiber optic nipples... All aftermarket lamps won't have this any longer...

Thanks for the order,

Willcox
