1981 Please Help with Module Identification
I didn't take these pics, I haven't seen the car. I'm trying to help a friend in another city 400 miles away. This is behind the seat, same compartment as the ECM and the jack. What is the thing wrapped with duct tape? It looks like the wires and inline connector are OEM. Thanks for any help.

The intermittent wiper controls are in the compartment behind the passenger. The ECM is behind the driver.
I would guess it is the wiper relay circuit. Do you have the shop manual with the wiring diagram. I could scan it for you tonight if you need it.

As I said, I posted this for a friend in another city that is working on the car. I sent him the link to this thread, and he saw your reply. Now he knows what the duct tape module is. I think he'll be able to proceed from here.
