Default '77 Quadrajet

I pulled the Qjet off of my '77 L48 late last year, in favor of a manifold and Holley 650 DP swap--I am just flat out more comfortable with Holley, and know them far better than the Q-Jet.

No issues with it--ran fine as far as i could tell.

Is it worth anything?

I figure they're probably a dime a dozen, and not worth much more than a core price, but I hate to throw it away if someone can use it/looking for one.

I have no immediate use for it, but I receive regular requests from people looking for rebuildable carbs for their Vettes, so I can put it to good use.

Rick put first dibs on it, so get with him first. If he doesn't want it, drop me a note.

unless you just really don't have the space for it I would keep it. I have a late 77 corvette with the original Q-jet on it. With a few mods that carb is an excellent fuel delivery piece of equipment.

Some day with this book you may want to look into getting it running good. Mine runs like fuel injection after following the advice of the book. I had zero previous knowledge on Q-jets prior to reading it. Currently running a modded 350 with about 440 HP with the q-jet. And your q-jet is a 750 max CFM carb vs the 650 your running now.

Your Q-Jet will run circles around that little 650 Holley when it's set up right. But if you want to get rid of it, I'll be glad to take it and set it up for someone who wants to run fast...

I do have the Cliff Ruggles book...Like I said, I've just always run Holleys, I am comfortable with them, know how to tune, etc for street performance, anyway.

I bought the book with the intention of rebuilding an old Q jet core I had on the shelf for years...just never got into the tear down of it (really, it's the best way I know to learn--take it apart and put it back together)...anyway, some time ago I ended up selling it with numerous other parts lying around to a guy from Craigslist...

Eh--more info that anyone probably cares for--just wanted to see if there was much interest before I decided to tear it down and play with it a bit (hopefully not ruin it)...
