This is a 2 year old thread, and it's usually best to start new threads after that much time...

Auto trans carbs generally have a provision on the lower part of the throttle lever for a TH350 kickdown cable, which was attached to the throttle lever. Most Corvettes used the heavy duty TH400 tranny, which did not utilize a kickdown cable, so the lever configuration is irrelevant until you get into the mid/late '70s Vettes that had the TH350.

4MV carb for manual transmission. Same "cut off" throttle lever was used on the big block cars due to manifold clearance and the fact that all big block automatics were TH400's. Not all 4MV carbs for small blocks had the lever cut off for the MT applications:

Manual trans 4MV carb for small block with lever intact:

Excellent, I have that lever intact on my carb. Could I also get a copy of the "Engine Vacuum Explained" document that you mentioned above? It's time I peel that onion. :-)

And again appreciate you taking the time to explain things. At the end of the day your are helping keep another C3 on the road - where they belong!
