As of late more than a few C3s are running up to 10" wide 18s all the way around. That wheel should work in the rear with no issues with up to a 275/40 tire. In the front may be a different story. Of course the 245/45 tire is not as wide but the front fit could be an issue. Do a search using "18s" as there is lots of reading on this.
They would definitely fit on my '79 - I have nearly identical offset 18x10s as my track wheels (5.54" effective backspace) all round, though they do touch the frame in front near full steering lock.

What part of the tire touches the frame? I am assuming it would be the edge of the tread, but........
Are you running stock fenders? Are they close to touching there?
The plan is to run all 4 wheels with the same tires.
Tire size I am considering is 245/45ZR18
What do you think?
My '72 vert was a old show car, and so I bought it with wider fenders as shown below, and the '89 vette wheels with 2.5" thick VBP adapters they fit well, of course the brake cable tab has to be moved....now on a stock bodied car, I think the fenders are too narrow....It wasn't untill a friend brought his stock '72 around that I finally noted the change, and upon comparisons, they same as later sharks...like a '80 or so....

Yes, edge of the tread.
Yes stock fenders.
Nope, comfortably clear of touching on the outside, with 295 tyres, but I do run a reasonable amount (-1.5 degrees) of negative camber on the front which definitely helps with that.
These cars are all different, and I seem to have more clearance than most, but your selected wheels and tyres would definitely easily fit on my car. Your wheels protrude 0.5" less to both the inside and outside, and the tyre ~0.75" less. Now I should say, you do have a risk of clearance issues on the rear with 5" backspace to the handbrake cable, sway bar (if fitted) and leaf spring ends. They may or may not clear with 5" backspace on an 18" rim, it seems to vary between cars. I relocated the handbrake cable to the top of the trailing arm, shortened the main leaf in the rear spring, and rebent my rear sway bar for increased clearance to allow the larger 5.5" backspace wheels on my car.
Be careful using backspacing numbers when comparing wheels of different widths. A 4.5" backspace with a 8" wide wheel puts the wheel in a different location than a 4.5" backspacing on a 9" wide wheel. The 8" wheel would be centered over the hub face but the 9" wheel would be offset towards the outside of the hub face by 0.5". Offset is the better way to compare wheels of different widths.

A simple way of looking at it is a 4.5" BS, regardless of wheel width, will fit onto the hub and with a tire it should not rub on the inside. However, as pointed out, as the wheel width increases, the more it will begin to stick outside the wheel well. If you want the tire to remain inside or flush to the fender, then a greater wheel width will require a bigger BS. My 18x9-1/2 wheels fit flush to the fender lip. The BS is 5-1/4". I'm sure a 5-1/2" BS will fit but the parking brake bracket will need to be relocated and the wheel width of 10" would work. Some guys have 10" wheels. Also, some guys like ol' school with wheels sticking beyond the fender lip. Then width of the wheel is not as much of a concern but BS is still critical in order to fit the hub and not interfere with the frame.
I have the 18"x9" on the rear of my 72'......the 5" backspace made the wheel look funky compared to the front as far as the relation to the fenderwell lip......I added a 1/4" spacer to bring it out some.....and although that does not sound like a lot.....when you are searching for the perfect stance......it means everything.
I also went with a 275/40/18 tire on the rear.......fronts are 245/45/17.
17x8 and 18x9 F/R.
I have been crawling under the new to me car, and noticed it has some nice parts under here.
It seem to have been upgraded with poly bushings, a bigger front bar, a rear bar, and offset aftermarket trailing arms, along with other widgets.

Nice....when I bought my car....I bought it sight unseen. I knew the engine was messed up but I was pleasantly surprised to find when I jacked it up that it had the full VB&P monoleaf front end with the control arms and the rear had been detailed with adjustable links, rear monoleaf and Addco bars front and back. Bonus! It handles on rails.
When I had the engine out....I detailed as much of the front end and engine compartment that I could.....overall now it is a very clean unit all over.

I wanted a CA car, and since had to trust a lot in the photos.
I confirmed there was no rust in the A pillar mounts, and figured I could fix anything other than that.

Conversely I never use offset to compare different width wheels, I always use backspace. Offset I use only when comparing wheels of the same width.
Some of you have done this, it would be nice if people would post their tire size also when saying I put 18x10 on the front of my car. A 10in wide tire that is only 25 in tall is not going to rub on the same things as a tire that is 27in tall. My stock 255/60r15s rubbed the frame on stock wheels at full lock for example.
