I like it. I think it looks great! Your buddy did you a real favor there and the wait wasn't long at all considering what you got and how much you got it for. I'd say you owe the guy one now!
What no comments ? Not bad for a total out of pocket 2100.00 . 1500 back and 500 front for insurance deductible . The people that painted it said the problem with the last paint job ( 20 years ago ) was that the guy only sanded down the old paint and left the cracks in it causing the paint to lift and bubble . These last two jobs guys took it all the way down and built it back up . Now I figure the money I saved on the paint i can put toward seats, door panels and weather stripping . Then mainly only have to worry about fixing things as I break them .
Looks real nice,congratulations!
I got an estimate for painting my 79 of 10K. The guy said that was just for roughing up the old paint and painting over it, not stripping it down either. In looking back that seems pretty stiff for what he was going to do.
In the days when I painted with my Dad, I would not have touched it for less than $3000.....and that is 2000 money. Just too much work and material now is highway rape since the EPA controlled the VOC of paint products 10-12 years ago.
The cars 27 1/4 i front and 28 1/4 in back to center of wheel well what should it be ?
Idk as far as measurements. It's more of a visual thing with me. I prefer less space between the top of the tire and the wheel well but that's just me. Mine was about that height before I changed the rear spring, and I did use a fiberglass spring, but it came right down about where I like it. Longer bolts do the same thing with the stock spring. Looks great at any rate, hard to beat a black corvette.
its not a stock spring . I put rebuilt trailing arms all new bushings , rebuilt the front end , brakes , 450 lbs springs front and 360 mono in back , new booster , shocks , intake, carb , air cleaner ,distributor, wires , fuel regulator , fuel pressure gauge , fuel lines ,chambered 2 1/2 exhaust from headers back ,plus other stuff , in the last 2 years .
Lets see back half $1500 I figure same for the front...$3000 total. I wish I could get my whole car painted for that.
You along with about every person who comes to get a paint quote. Like I tell them the only way that they will get an over-all paint job for that is if they do it themselves.

I am not judging the car by your photo. But rather agree that the measurements above are well within what I would consider ACCEPTABLE.
I shoot for the rear being at least ONE inch higher than the front.
