Ok So Fi Tech asks you to install a venting gas cap with the fuel command center, assuming this has to do with fuel pressure. Exactly what kind of cap and I looking for, on the inside of the cap. I called a few different auto supply places today and they were lost.
I drilled mine out with a very small bit. I have no extra gas smell in garage and have ran like this for 2 years with zero problems.
I did the same, has worked perfectly. I don't know that it was necessary, but I drilled through the outside of the cap on one side and the inside of the cap on the opposite side, figuring that it would reduce any likelihood of fuel sloshing out with a full tank (probably not likely to be a problem anyway to be honest).
Depends on the year of your corvette.
I believe pre 72 all were vented.
I purchased a vented fuel cap for my 73 for a 72 model year and it fit perfect.
NAPA Auto parts for about $15.00.
Drilling a non-vented cap would work just as well.

Not correct but please correct me if I'm wrong. My '71 is a closed system. The EEC or Evaporative Emission Control system began in I think 1970. The fuel system with EEC was closed so it is essentially "vented" through the charcoal canister into the carb. I know my fuel cap is not vented. Not sure what year GM went back to vented system.
Got pictures? I'm seriously thinking about FITech or a Sniper system in the near future and would love to see how you did it. Thanks
I try and snap one for you but its nothing special. Just a hole about the size of a large paper clip right in the center of the plastic cap. My 79 cap has a flat smooth top.
I'm interested in the p/n and manufacturer as well.
I plan to do something like this and was looking into charcoal canisters for ski boats that use something similar.
63-69 Corvettes used a vented cap, 70 and later have a non vented, or sealed, cap.
The OP doesn't mention what year he has, but if he has a 70-74 he can use a 63-69 Corvette vented cap. 63-74 Corvettes all use the same filler neck, so the vented and non vented caps are interchangeable.
In 75, the filler necks were changed to accommodate the Federally mandated unleaded fuel filler neck restrictor. I don't know of any commercially available vented cap, that will work on 75-77 or 78-82 Corvette filler necks, but there may be something out there.
Is that an inline charcoal filter? If so, do you have a P/N or any info on what it came from?

GM used it on the Power Brake Booster vacuum - as a filter to keep gas fumes out of it.
