Default Harmonic Balancer Bolt Differences?!?

Help!

I picked up an almost new ATI balancer for a good price over @ ThirdGen. I tried the bolts that came with my aluminum pulley set and they won't fit. I bought a Mr Gasket SBC harmonic balancer bolt set (which included only Grade 5 bolts--is that an appropriately strong grade of bolt for a harmonic balancer??!?) and it doesn't fit either...

What the?!? Anyone know if the ATI balancers use a different size bolt?

#Confused.

I'll read the part #'s off of it when I get home.

I looked up the one part # I could find and it was just the part # for their SBC hub. (I THINK it's a 916951 because that's in my search history...)

The # I found on the balancer itself I couldn't find a match for online, but I can post it, too (although the bolt holes are obviously in the hub).

Shouldn't be anything special. Just normal stuff on all the ATI's I've used...

I am assuming you are referring to the three bolts that hold the pulley onto the harmonic balancer.

If so...YES...Grade 5 is good enough....but if you have concerns....then get Grade 8.

Either it is 3/8-16....or 3/8-24 or metric.

Take it to a big box home improvement store that have machine bolts in the hardware area...which I know they do....and find one that fits....or take it to you local NAPA that should also have bolts.

The bolts that I have are definitely 3/8-24.

The bolt holes in the ATI Damper look courser than that and if I'm reading the ATI Super Damper Accessories page correctly, it looks like they require 3/8-16.
(Damper face bolts and pulley bolts are the same thing??!?) http://www.atiracing.com/products/da...arts/index.htm

Thanks everyone for your help! I was starting to fear that the threads were screwed up.

Part # on the hub: 916951
Part # on main body of the balancer: A379927

HA! I was able to take the hub part #, the outer diameter, and the fact that a magnet sticks to the case everywhere and reference the ATI Chevy part # chart to figure out that the balancer is a part # 917780

"Steel with Inner shell" I have no idea what that means or how it's different from the normal steel shell version (917785), but glad I finally have a part # considering that it's written NOWHERE on the part...
