Default Engine harness routing

Hi all,

I'm currently mounting my new engine harness. I've one simple question (and wasn't able to find the answer here or on the Net...) : where does pass the engine harness in the region of the wiper engine ?
My original harness passed behind the motor :

But I've seen in the AIM that this harness seems to pass in front of the motor.

If I mount the harness behind the motor, I've a problem with the yellow cable for the wiper washer pump : it tends to be too short and to pull on the connector....

Any idea ?

Thank you and heve a nice week-end.
Chris

Hi Chris,
The engine harness dips down into the recess in the firewall for the wiper motor can. Not behind it but below it.
There's a clip on the left side where the harness begins to dip, and then another on the right side as it comes up out of the dip and continues across the right side of the firewall.
The harness has to be located in just the right place (left to right) on the firewall for all the wires for the wiper motor and washer pump to reach their connections. It's a good idea to start in the middle of the firewall and then make the required connections to the left and right.
Regards,
Alan

Left side clip.

Right side clip.

Hi Alan,

Fast as always :-)
I thank you very much for your help !

I'll process as you told. I was a bit surprised to see that GM had made such a strange wiring...

Hi Chris,
"strange wiring..."
You're right.
The engine harness is pretty short and uncomplicated compared to the other 3, but still has a few suprises!
Regards,
Alan
