You guys apparently don't know what the motor is .
That 427 has SB2 the older NASCAR heads and intake on it. The engine alone could cost 25 - 30 grand. With all the man hours and the dry sump it might be 10-15 grand installation. Another 5 grand for the tranny and clutch to take on 681 hp
I'm not justifying the 55, but if that is all professionaly done the seller is taking a big loss

My guess is the block is a Motown Gen 1/LS hybrid with All Pro LS heads on it. Not a cheap build either!
And, Black wasn't even offered in 75,
. We all wish c3 were that valuable
If it's really worth anywhere near the 55K, I highly doubt that it's being a '75 convertible has much to do with it. It being a C3 corvette at all probably contributes little to it's total worth. That value would have mostly to do with nice restomod bodywork, a topnotch paint job, upgraded and upper end suspension, engine and drivetrain. That's just supposition that it's a high quality build of course. No way of knowing for sure.
you are right about the original sb2 heads having sames ed exhaust ports they had the typical heat problems as our 23 degree heads. So the race engine builders with the 4.5 bore center blocks improved the heads to a canted valve 11 degree with equally spaced exhaust ports.
