Hi s,
If you're referring to removing the headlight door/mechanism and the frame it mounts to in one piece, it's likely removing the hood first will be wise.

If you're willing to disassemble the headlight mechanism and door from the headlight frame while in place then much of it can come out through the openings for the grills, down through the openings in the front valence, and up in the space between the rear of the hood surround and hood.

Getting the hood on and off by yourself is possible... but pretty chancy

What are you doing that makes you want the headlights to be removed completely?
Regards,
Alan

Are you concerned about reaching the outer 'pivot' bolts or the outer 'frame' bolts?

YES...the hood can stay on but they need to be taken apart.

And if you are having a problem getting to the three outer pivot bolts...Then then answer is NO. The hood will need to come off.

To remove the hood by myself, I put about an 18" cardboard box over the air cleaner., then spread a blanket over the box and fenders. Take loose the hood prop bolts and let the hood sit on the box and blanket. Take out the hinge bolts, wrap the hood in the blanket and either lift it off or move it up to the roof.
