I'd like some expert advice. Recently, when using the a/c on the 2nd or 3rd setting of the fan, a "whirring" or "buzzing" noise starts and has gotten increasingly louder. I believe I've correctly isolated it to the blower motor under the passenger side dash, as I can feel it vibrating when the sound starts. In the picture below, the black part is where the buzzing and vibration is coming from, so wanted to confirm I've correctly identified this as the blower. If so, I've been through the Chassis manual so feel good to dig in, but wanted to double-check first ...... and any advice from someone who's tackled this already would be welcome. If it's not the blower, please let me know what this part is.

Would help your cause if you'd include year model of the vehicle you're asking questions about.
The blower motor is mounted on the firewall inside the engine compartment just below the passenger fender.
Your photo is of the duct work that covers the heater core and A/C evaporator. If you're source of sound emanates from there you likely have some debris that's been blown into the ducting.
The blower motor is a real PITA to get to and change on a 1969 A/C car. It is more accessible on a '70-72 car because the right-front fender side vent can be removed.
Word of advice: Don't buy the 'low-priced' version of that blower motor if you replace it. They visually appear to be the same; but the motor wiring is much smaller than what was in the OEM unit. Call some of the Corvette parts suppliers to see if they sell an 'equivalent' unit.

i did it on my 68 but without A/C. you access it from the engine compartment. the blower isnt too difficult, the heater core was a pain. it was easy because i had my engine out and could stand right there, your going to have to do some reaching and bending. the buzzing could just be something stuck in the hampster cage fan........like a mummified mouse...I'll skip the pic for now
