69 Corvette hood support
I was wondering if anyone had a problem with the 2 bolts from the hood support going into the hood. Wanted to know if anyone knew of any after market part.

Not knowing what your exact problem is.
I have had many hoods where some idiot screwed up the nut plate that is riveted to the inside of the under structure by putting in sheet metal screws..and I have had some that have snapped off.

Without photos or a good description of what is going on in regards to the integrity of the holes in the hood where the bolts go into the metal plate.
You may need to do like many have done and find something that works and will last.

thanks for the photos...but... what does the metal plate inside your hood look like???
Are the threads stripped out???
Is there a metal plate still there at all?? Hopefully there is still one in place.
I cannot help you fix this if you do not help out with good information.

OUCH!!!
How skilled are you?
Meaning....I know I could fix this due to having the tools and know-how.
But me telling you this and that may not make sense or you may not have what is needed to fix this.
This can be repaired a number of ways and that depends on your skill level and the tools to do the job and you willing to buy what is needed.

My method would require you making cut in the side of the under structure so you can slide a metal plate that you have made that would allow those two bolts to thread into it.
Let me know if you are into doing that.
The 'other' option is using what is called a WELLNUT and pushing it into the hole and using a bolt that would compress it and hold the prop rod.
The problem with the Wellnuts is that they can fail over the years and the next person who goes to take the prop rod off will be in a for a fight of their lives.

he should have no problem in making a cut in the inner side of the understructure and slide the pate in...pop rivet it in place and bolt the support to it.
As for fixing the section he cut out..that should be a no-brainer for him also.
