I have a 1980 C3 the speedometer is 10 miles an hour to fast I have a 19 tooth gear coming out of the tranny if I bump it up to 22 or 21 will that fix the problem

1 tooth is typically a 5 mph change. Below is the original gear chart from GM.
But did someone do some work on the tranny and possibly change the drive gear..... Or is the speedo just losing it's magnetism? Since the 1980 cars only used the 19 tooth driven gear for all combinations I'd probably take a look at the speedo as being the culprit vs the gear in the tranny.

I’m just concerned it’s putting mileage on the car faster.
Speedo reads too fast. When you go down the interstate, does odometer match mile markers, or put 11 or 12 miles on in 10 miles? Cuz the odometer is cable driven. If it reads high-or low-the gear ratio between odometer and wheels is off.
