All my gauges worked when I first got my Vett . then after sitting in storage this winter I went to start it and only some of them work . My tack quit working and the alt gauge too . I have put a new printed board in the gauge cluster but nothing . I'm wondering if the board behind the tack could be bad . Its on a 1977 and if someone could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful . Thank you Mike
Check your GAUGES fuse....due to it powers up the tach.
It all depends if you installed the gauge cluster printed circuit board correctly and it is grounding out.

Hey Thanks Dub , I need to get into the fuse box and look it over but getten old and fat and it is tough to look in there tight . one thing I was wondering is maybe a fuseable link but where are they and i'm not sure what they look like ???? Thanks again Mike
The fusible link is down by our starter and you need to GOOGLE a photo of what one looks like when it is installed in a harness.
I seriously doubt hat is your problem due to you would be having a lot more going wrong than just the tach not working.
If you do not have a wiring diagram. Now is the time to get one.
AS for why you voltmeter is not working. I would have to look at my wiring diagram and see what is going on there and IF your printed circuit board on the back of the gauge cluster is the problem or not.
77 wire diagram. go to the link, right click on it, select copy. Then open your paint program on your computer, paste it in there and save to your desktop.
So... my next question is did you test for power at the gauges fuse? You want to test the terminal to the left first, then test the one to the right. You can test the fuse first to see if it has continuity, but it's possible there is corrosion on the terminals inside the box so if the fuse test good take a look at the terminals.
My next question is what are the gauges doing? Any movement when you turn the key on? When you had the center bezel out did you test any of those wires?
