Default What does this plug go to?

Recently got a 72 coupe w/ 454 & AC. There is a strange plug I haven't been able to figure out what it hooks up to. It comes out of the harness that plugs into the ac relay. It has a green wire and a black wire going into the plug. Somebody has cut the black wire and taped it up. There is also a C shaped metal strip that suggests it goes over a vacuum line of similar size. The total plug/wire combo is quite short and doesn't extend very far but I can't find anything in the area it plugs to. Any suggestions?

It is for the thermal limiter switch in the A/C system.
Black wire goes to ground.
One green wire goes to compressor clutch
Other green wire goes to Ambient Switch.

Thanks for the info. Apparently someone decided it was unneeded and totally removed it from the car. I'm going to have to fix the cut ground wire unless its just rolled up in the tape someone put on it.

Does this switch live up near the firewall and the large relay or does it mount someplace else? I can't find any photos online that show the proper location of it. Some genius also left the ac relay dangling down hanging by the wires instead of mounting it back to the 2 screws its meant for
