will it be smart to cleen rod surface on crank and go oversize bearings?
i thank you

Did the bearing get grooved? What happened to it? Are there gouges or marks on the crank. If the engine is in and the crank is fine just replace the bearings. Otherwise you will have to pull motor and have the crank machined .010 or .020 and get all new bearings that size.
Is the rod itself ok? How bad is the crank? If the crank is to bad to polish I would remove the crank and have the journals turned and leave the mains alone. Any idea what caused the bearing to go bad? Also maybe I am misunderstanding, is it the crank/main bearings or a rod bearing?
look on the back of the bearing shell. it will say STD, 010, 020, etc. buy a bearing that size, clean up crank journal install it and plastigauge it. but if bearing went bad, something is wrong with something. a size is off, bad oil feed, something. I have replaced bearings and had motors live. about 50%.

that's what my point was ....somethings not right....you need to have some one put eyes and hands on it who knows what they are doing. so this doesn't happen again.

What was the cause of the bearing failure? Was it the mains?, rods? or both.
Without finding the cause of the failure, the same thing will probably happen again.
