Default air conditioner

Haven't used it in like 20 years . Had it charged years back but don't think it was running right . Is there a reason to keep the belt on it or can it be removed .?

The belt can be left on due to it is not taking any power away from the engine when not in use..

But many have taken them off due to not using it and as far as I know did not have any ill effects in doing so.

Just keep in mind it is ALSO a back up belt for your WATER PUMP so if your alternator belt snaps...your A/C belt will keep the water pump turning.

So I would leave it alone myself.
