I am going to a large automotive swapmeet this coming weekend in Louisville, KY and am looking to buy a Hurst shifter for my '79 Vette with 4 speed. Can any of you tell me which Hurst shifter kit I need to find to use with my car?
I totally agree with buying brand new vs. used. I have had very good luck at this particular swap meet buying new parts and very good prices. I'm really looking the part number that I need to find. I will follow the links to the Mr Gasket site and track it down from there.
If you don't go to swap meets you are missing out on a different experience. There is obviously a very large amount of junk there, but, you can snag some really good buys along the way also. Last year I bought a brand new Weiand dual plane intake for $50 and a set of Accel 8.8 plug wires for $20. Plus, I go with a couple of buddies and we always drive in the night before and do the guy things at the local hotspots which is always a lot of fun also  .
