You are aware that you are going to need a steering wheel puller. Do you have one? And the needed two 5/16-18 bolts that will thread into the wheel hub. Those bolts are about 3" to 4" long

If I am not mistaken you a will need a Phillips head screwdriver and a 13/16" socket, extension and ratchet also

My last post may be incorrect. I honestly cannot remember how the wheel attaches to the hub. In know in earlier and later years they are held on by machine screws. SO...a steering wheel puller is NOT needed.

When you remove the horn button by pulling it off and get the horn contact and tele ring off. Then there should be about six Phillips head screws that hold the wheel to the hub.

If you can post a photo of it when you get the horn button off...that would clear up any of the confusion I have going on inside my head.

76 is a unique year, hub is integral to the wheel

Still waiting for a photo of how it looks when you get the upper parts out. The wheel may still need a puller to get it off....like 'naramlee' in POST #4 mentioned.

"The wheel may still need a puller to get it off"
Definitely- I have had my wheel and hub off about ten times- needed a puller every time. Except, years ago I wanted a steering wheel from a junkyard for my 66 Mustang and the junkyard owner removed the center nut on the steering column, sat down in the driver seat and literally muscled the wheel off. The guy had forearms like Popeye.
