Stock manifold
Hey all just installed a new engine in my 82 crossfire..Installed the renagade manifold as I heard it was a good upgrade..had a few minor problems..first is I have a vacuum leak on the drivers side throttle body where the idle control circuit is on the stock manifold had a nice curved lip that would seal where this does not and is causing a vacuum leak..How do I fix this?? Second the valve cover on the driver side is not sitting flush against the head it may be hitting the intake..I spent 600$ for something that is causing problem where it should be fixing problem if you hear what I say...

I'm not sure I follow you on this... "first is I have a vacuum leak on the drivers side throttle body where the idle control circuit is on the stock manifold had a nice curved lip that would seal where this does not and is causing a vacuum leak." Are you saying that the top plate is warped or defective? Also..."Second the valve cover on the driver side is not sitting flush against the head it may be hitting the intake." If you use a standard Felpro gasket, not the thick gaskets for the valve covers, the cover should fit just fine. I have never heard of an issue about the valve covers not sitting properly, but I guess it could happen. Not sure where the person above got that number to call, but it is not correct. Eddie Motorsports in CA does the pouring and machining of the units. If you have an issue, please call them at: 888-813-1293 ask for customer support. If you don't get the satisfaction you want, PM me and I'll provide an email address for you.
After looking at your pics, I think I know what you are saying about the TBs and how they are mounted in relation to the gaskets. Again, I have never seen this issue and even went out and pulled my aircleaner box off my motor to see if I could figure out what you were saying. The only thing that I can come up with is that maybe they (Eddie Motrosports) machined the top plate wrong for TB placement. The gaskets should come to the edge of the top plate and not hang over. There is no bulge for the gaskets to sit on. Hope this helps.

yes I have fixed my valve cover problem..but I am still having a vacuum leak and I think it because of that overhang and the gasket can not seal good has nothing there ..I did email Eddie Motorsports about the problem and have not heard back yet..so you are saying it shouldn’t hang over then..we’ll mine certainly does as the pic shows...did I get a bad top plate???
any help with this I would appreciate so much I love this manifold i just want it to work properly..thank you again..if you can me email add is bmgto2004@yahoo.com.. thanks so much Bryan
Called Eddie Motorsports today and showed pics there response was ...yeah had one guy that had this problem he returned the parts to us..Try some RTV to fix...Anydody that knows anything would know that’s not going to work I tried it and guess what still has a problem.I wonder how much this affects driving this..I know when stopped it idles differently it’s high it’s low ect...also they just emailed there solution to me and no call back like he said..getting frustrated now

OK, so I dig out a manifold I have and put some new gaskets on it and with TBs. There is a slight overhang on the drivers side by about 3/16(ish), but nothing that would keep it from sealing. I guess I was thinking about the no overhang on the pass side which there isn't any, my fault. I have no idea why yours would be different than this one. It almost looks like the holes my be off, but maybe not, hard to tell. I would still try and get a new top plate and go from there. BTW, my 82 has a slight over hang on the drivers side, but the TB is sealed on that edge. I can't take a pic, because you wouldn't be able to see anything.
