Brake lights staying on
Need some help with brake lights staying on please....1968 with power brakes, 4 speed. I can pull up on the pedal with my foot underneath it and the lights go out but when I move my foot they come back on.
Any help is appreciated!

Either make that adjustment to the brake switch at night...so you can see if the brakes lights are on [or not], or have someone watching from behind to tell you "ON" or "OFF" as you are adjusting it. Also, the switch should NOT illuminate the lights the instant the pedal is touched. If you do this, your brake lights will make the driver behind you crazy. There is a dead spot at the start of pedal movement before pressure is built in the braking system. You can feel the beginning of resistance in the pedal, and that is where the lights should activate.
