Default Replacing 1976 steering column/wheel

I apologize if this is handled in another thread, but I could not find an exact match to what I am about to ask.

I have a 1976 C3 with a non-tilt column and original "Vega" steering wheel. I don't care for the steering wheel's appearance or the fact that I have no tilt wheel for getting in and out of the car.
I would like to replace this with a tilt steering column and different steering wheel. I am not concerned with originality. I see steering columns on eBay, new, like this...
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-1980-C...UAAOSwCp5awqPi

Could I simply install a column like this and get an aftermarket steering wheel or even a steering wheel from another year C3 Corvette? I'm hoping someone has done something like what I am seeking.

Thank you.

That looks like an aftermarket steering column (Flaming River?). It doesn't have the mounting brackets for the dash or floor. The biggest difference in columns is where the hi-beam switch is located. On the floor or turn signal lever. May also be differences in turn signal switch. They come up for sale in the Parts for Sale Forum.

Seems like this column swap would be anything but simple. I will postpone such an endeavor. Thanks!

I know this thread is super old, but I recently was able to mount a NRG quick attach hub, short hub and steering wheel very easily. You loose the horn and have to set the tele ahead of time but the wheel is much nicer overall!

Your right. this is a very old thread. Did you consider starting a new thread? Maybe title it, "Steering wheel with no horn".
Or just put it up on the "What did you do to your Corvette today". Thread in C3 general.
Buy the way, Very ugly wheel for a vintage car.
