Default 383 Stroker Heads Decision

Hey guys, need some more help with a decision with my 383 stroker engine build, as usual here on the Corvette Forums has proved to be the most helpful place on the internet!!! So, i'll start off with what I know about my engine and what I have for it. I have a 383 (technically a 388) stroker with a scat 400 crank and 10:1 pistons. I have an Edelbrock Performer Air Gap RPM Intake, Mighty Demon 750 Mech Sec. Carb, Summit 110gph Fuel Pump and a Howards 112581-12S Cam (specs shown). I'm running a M21 Muncie 4-Speed Trans and between 3.50-3.73 rear gear (haven't got that far yet). I have 2 different sets of heads that I have to decide between, the Vic. Jr. are on a 383 motor I just took out of a '77 I purchased, the other ones I purchased from a friend not really knowing what I was buying lol. Just curious which would work best with my set up, have a feeling im going to be picking between 2 evils, one too much and one too little as always I appreciate the help and your guys' opinions! The numbers on the second set of heads are probably better for your 383, but there is no mention of who makes them or where they come from. Edelbrock is a trusted manufacturer, but 215 cc intake is a little large for a 383. The raised exhaust ports on the Edelbrock heads will require you make some changes to your exhaust system, and potentially to some of the bracketry on the engine.

I believe they are just generic branded, bought them off the guy who sold me the block. For $750 they came with roller rockers and assembled with a guarantee but idk if thats a good price or not haha

The price is great. I paid almost three times that for the AFR 220 heads on my 427. I can't help thinking you get what you pay for.

Those are 3-400 chinese ebay heads, they are all over the web being sold under different names.
Half decent hardware costs way more than that, is it worth risking your motor to that?

Or sell both sets and get a set of AFRs,. TFS or? Just a thought. The vic jrs are 215cc?

You have a point, yes the vic jrs are 215cc, probably too much for what I got but if I could make them work thatd be nice lol. Dont really want to deal with selling both sets of heads, I resell a lot of carburetors and winter seems to be dead season.

I did a 388" for a buddy to put in his '65. 11.0 compression (pump gas all day), 215 as cast Dart heads, Weiand Team G single plane, Holley 750 Street HP. He's run it with 3.36's and a wide ratio for years and it runs like a ****. Drivability comes from the cam/tune as much as anything. His can literally idle away from a redlight. I was actually surprised how easy it is to drive. It's been together for 6-7 years now with no issues. The 3.36's were a diff he was borrowing from a buddy for all those years. When he had to give it back he installed one with 3.70's he had on the shelf. I will say it likes that even better!

His cam is a 248* solid roller with good Isky lifters. The valves never move. He pulled intake last year to ck lifters and no issues...put it back together.
I would use the Edelbrocks since you have them.

I ran a set of heavily ported GM Phase 6 Bowties on a 350" once (207 cc) and they were also great with 3.36's and a four speed.
