Default Header Side Pipes

Finally managed to save enough lunch money for header side pipes for my 71 Stingray. Issue now, is do I go w/Doug's chrome set or OBX stainless steel. Both cost roughly the same. Worried about upkeep, longevity, & looks. Car goes to shows frequently with my car club. Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Polished stainless looks better than chrome any day and it won't rust like chrome.
Upkeep on the stainless is a bit more time consuming though.

Keep in mind, the tubes will get "sandblasted" by crap thrown up from the tires, so you want the most durable material.

Default Jet Hot

I went with Jet Hot ceramic coating. Not as shinny but they do run cooler.

Good choice. They are much shinier than the shinny ones.

Remember to wear long thick pants, or you will be pealing skin from the pipes.

Thanks again, for responses. How do I post pictures in case I run into install problems? I'm sure it's on this forum somewhere, but not real teck savvy.

You usually get "kissed" once and then you remember to be careful when getting out!

You need more HP …

It all depends on how you drive - friends 76 with them is ok around town, but after a trip on the highway - you can feel the heat when you open the door.

I have a 67 - factory stock - warm after any trip even highway.

1st degree "kiss" - Fak, that's hot!
2nd degree "kiss" - Fak, I may need heat shields.
3rd degree "kiss" - Fak, fak, fak, I'm ordering heat shields now!!!

If significant other experiences any of the above, you may need to choose between the significant other or your vette!!! Buy the heat shields.
