yep, big user of autocad 2D here, i also use 3D programs, inventor "Lt" at work and "Pro" home .
2D is just easier for our machining unless it's 3d shapes in our moulds. often have to send prints out for quotes in 2D pdf.
sometimes 2D is just easier for laying out holes in plates and the such.
i have found a few things in "step" files around the web, and have drawn a few of my repairs up also.
inventor was used for my 3D printed smop pump fan.
have modeled up the blower fan spacer, also just recently posted here by another member, but have not made 1 yet.
