Fuel vapor canister 72 vette
Hi All,
I am rebuilding the fuel vapor canister on my 72 vette. Can the charcoal pellets be cleaned and reused and if not, where can I find the replacement pellets, filters, etc?'
Thanks all for your insight.

Napa Auto Parts has the filters and I've seen some people here on the forum purchase the charcoal pellets at pet stores in the aquarium section.

I re-did mine a handful of years ago, basically followed the instructions on here

Why is the canister at the front of all cars? I suppose it's to have the shortest route to the engine to re-burn vapor?

That, and the fact that there isn't much "spare room" at the rear of a C3.

I actually moved mine during my LS swap to the rear quarter panel, up high and through bolted in the wheel well with stainless bolts and nuts. Ran the tank vent to it but I think I'll leave it vent to the atmosphere.

I’ll be running a marine type charcoal canister on mine.
All new inboard ski boats run the same type.
They take up very little room and will keep any vapors escaping into the environment.
It will be mounted right at the tank.
