Unfortunately no, your proper number would be 7041213 (270hp/manual trans) according to the black book.

that can not be the right number on the carb because a 7047200 is a 2 barrel for a 72 pontiac :chevy

Here's a link to decode. This link won't tell you what is correct for your car but it can decode your number. Are you sure the second 7 isn't a 1? http://www.carbs.net/quadnumber.htm

7041200 would be so much better!! (better than a 2bbl for a 72 pontiac!! ) 7041200 is listed for several 71 Chevy bigblock applications in 71, with automatic trans...

Carter built Q-Jets for GM under license from Rochester, so you can have a Carter Q-Jet and be "correct." However, a 7041200 is not a SB Vette carb - it is a Q-Jet for a 1971 402 or 454 Chevelle with auto trans. It should be jetted with #77 jets, #49 primary rods, and "BG" secondary rods. It will run just fine on your Vette if it's set up to the stock specs.
