Default Wilwood brake problem

I just finished the install of my Ridetech suspension and Wilwood brakes.I backed it out of the garage and the brakes made a terrible screeching noise. The pads are not bedded in yet.Could it be the coating on the rotors? It is almost like when your rotors and pads are wet.Any ideas. Thanks Charlie.

Are these the OEM replacements? See if the rear mounting bolts are hitting the rotor. And check that the pads are centered.

The brakes are kit they use with the Ridetech suspension. The back brakes are mounted in stock position and the front are for Camaro. Will check the padsto see if they are centered tonight. They noise is when I apply the brakes.

Did you identify a specific wheel it was coming from?

That didn't answer whether the kit you have is the original's replacement. There is a known problem with the bolt I am referring to.

As you say though, you only hear it when you apply the brakes so likely not. But you should look to be sure. Just FYI, the dust shields can also make a horrible noise. I had that problem with cornering however.

73ls1 -
read this and ensure that your are not pushing the attaching bolt into the rotor and locking it down. You never answered the question that ignatz posed so I'm gathering that you did not understand the issue:

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ter-stall.html

You need to ensure that the attaching bolts don't lock up the rotor.
