Found the number on the side of the quadrajet in my 79 L48 coupe. I would like to know if it's the original or same number as the stock carb.
I am thinking of buying one already rebuilt from Ecklers. https://www.ecklerscorvette.com/corvette-rebuilt-rochester-carburetor-l48-175hp-185hp-and-195hp-1978-1979.html
17059216 is listed as a Q-Jet for a 79 Corvette with an automatic and air conditioning. So if your car has an automatic and AC, it's possible that it is the original carb.

The 17059216 is a correct carb for a '79 Vette with a base 350. The same carb was also used on a lot of other cars that year, including 350 and 305 Camaro, Nova, and Impala with auto trans and A/C.
The numbers are all listed in my Q-Jet carb tuning paper, along with their specs. Paper available from me via e-mail request.
I wouldn't swap that carb for a "rebuilt" from Ecklers (or from anyone else). E-mail me for my paper about the problems with commercially rebuilt carbs - they're complete junk - a waste of money and time.
Absolutely don't swap for anyone else's rebuild, just make arrangements to have Lars rebuild it. No one knows noses like Neosynephrine, and no one knows carbs like Lars!
