I’m running it in a Blown 454. Pretty happy with it so far. I was running 100 octane VP and this runs pretty comparably with the same timing. I did replace all the fuel lines and fuel pump to E85 compatible products. It doesn’t smell nearly as good as race fuel, but it runs clean and is CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP. You have to run 40% more fuel through the system, but it’s good on power and that’s really all that matters. Some people have said it eats fuel systems...but so far in my experience everything seems to be ok.

One thing that does suck is that stuff is BAD for paint. My 3 year old son was working with me on the car and accidentally bumped the fuel pump switch and pumped fuel all over the fender. Ugh. Big streaks down the fender now. Lame.

never gave the stuff any thought or attention. But today stumbled on an artical guy said he had a 10.5 compression 350 sbc he put 9 lbs of boost to it claimed that was close to 16 to compression ran it on street had no detonation problems. That really got my attention, i like wicked cams and they need wicked compression, im not greedy would love only 13 to 1 in a street toy. Looks like holley sells E85 carbs, i suppose you need stainless lines and im guessing not having a steel fuel tank would be good. Then im reading best to do a fuel additive to help with its corrosive problem. Are you running a stock steel fuel tank ? Thanks. Also read today all cars and trucks in brazile run on E85 been doing it for decades. They call it brazilian 85.

People say costs money lol. When i had class 8 trucks and A/C went to 134 all the balony went around. You have to change all your lines, use special O rings and a bigger condenser. Only the condenser needed changed a bit bigger if you wanted it to cool the best and you could run the extra head pressure of 134 no problem. All the original lines for R12 were way rated higher then needed. But if you listened to them you would be out spending money for new lines and the tiny cost of the 0 rings. If you have multiple trucks thats money.

I looked at it a couple of years back when another forum member was selling a high compression motor that I was interested in. At that time, there were very few places in AZ where I could get it. That may not be the case where you are but it’s wise to check.

Live in texas but after 49 years of first arkansas then texas weather im moving to san diego. Nothing cheap here on fuel there constant raising of gas tax sees to that
Right now 87 octain is 395 a gallon. Om line while trying to look up service stations in san deigo area it mentioned a price in oakland north of frisco price there 2.29 on E85. It burns 70 percent of gas so that worked out to costing 3.56 a gallon. It may be that fuel stations to few. Dont trust a factory block sbc at 13 to 1 compression but i really need to go aftermarket anyway.

By the way here in great weather la la land mommy daddy state government wants to stop obeasity in californians so they are considering a 20 cent tax per every once on soda, sweetened tea , coffee sweetner and any sports drink. Then they want to do 1.75 on any new tire sold here, 1.00 on all car lead accid bateries. 40 million people here and they say 150,000 people are paying now just over 50 percent of all state taxes, yet 40 percent of californians pay no income at all zero. Then they plan to give there medi-cal to there ileagle population here. Keeping my texas cdl and address will still register my toys there.

They have been doing it. Illegals, recently released felons are deemed disabled and entitled to full bennies. Weather in SD is good but high cost of living, traffic and all the liberal stuff....you can have it.

From age 7 to 15 when i left so- cal in 1968. The state itself fantastic pick your weather here. In the morning you could be surfing by afternoon be in the mountains then late afternoon playing in desert. I like the people in texas thats all i like in the state 85 percent flat as board summers suck for heat and humidity, winters not real bad but not good either. So may bought new t120 bonneville. Far as im concerned no place to even ride it in texas lousy scenery **** poor weather. For 29 years in trucking business i worked out in 100 degree plus weather with hand tools wrenching on three rigs while driving 1 of them 14 to 16 hours a day 8 hours on saturday then three trucks to keep up sunday. You have to put up with people no matter where yiu are and lously lying out there *** politicians everywhere you go. Ya i make shawn hannity look like a commy in my condervative views. Sold my house in texas buying a reasonable size boat going to live on it in marina north side of san diego. Will keep po. Box in texas and 1 at the marina. But i love to get in peoples sand box no matter how mad i make them. I still laugh about that arrogant A hole at the vette sales place when i looked down said look henry fords model T ford transverse spring. Even though ive always been chevy guy with a few fords thrown in. Forgot to mention truck i drove in texas for 17 years had no A/C no power stering. My other two trucks drivers had all those luxerys. Driver A/C quit working one day already drove 16 hours i dpent till midnight fixing his A/C so he would have it while i would not spend a dime to put ac on my yruck i drove. Truck i had running over the road got up in wichita falls colder then hell out front wherl seal went out. After driving 14 hours threw stuff to fix it in pickup drove up there spent all night chisling the bearing off the axle using emery cloth while driver sat in coffee shop drinking coffee. Drove back to north dallas now daylight get in my truck drive another 14 hour day around 36 hours or so. Then on this forum i gets some no nothing PUNK *** tell me im no engine builder.

Im 66 they will have to live there lives out in it not me and they will never know how good this country once was because they wont no any better. So laugh will be on them. So lets say you took my spot in texas. You be in either ac mode or heater mode in your house 90 percent of the year electric and heating bill rediculous. Working on car outside in comfort forget that. They pay there school taxes off property taxes my 2700 sq ft house 4 grand a year property tax. Slip rent deigo 40 ft boat 650 and right on ocean only other elcectric bill 30 a month. Guy here has 28 ft boat slip rent 321 a month. Someone with office job ac and heat tx livable other then that hell on earth.

You want liberals. I live in Massachusetts where it used to be a good conservative state outside of Boston. The librrals have moved out to the suburbs and brought their stupid ideas with them. There are so many people on welfare or disability its ridiculous. Now with everyone wanting to be a sanctuary city, we get refugees that cant even spell English ,never mind speak it. The second they show up welfare gives them a place to live, food stamps and a drivers license. We get yaxed on everything to pay for it.

On the other side of the coin, I work in a public school and the things parents say makes you wonder how they figured out how to have a kid in the first place. They are so stupid, they dont want to be a parent, thats the teachers job. We had one parent say their could wouldnt listen to them and they were always on the phone or computer. We say take away the phone, the say " i cant do that". Just stupid

I did some part time work at att stadium. Three nights i got super easy job just set out on golf cart on big lot see to it nothing stolen so those three nights each night got different cop on lot with me. Cops most time ex military these 3 were so we had plenty time to talk they said amount of people on disabilty staggering, said people getting it for just overweight. Soon as i become dictator lol. No man will recieve welfare only possible chance if a court gived custodity to him of children in divorce. Come accross our border illeagle first offense 20 yesrs in prison and no non citizen for any reason gets a dime in any form. 55 percent of ileagle in cali are on some form of government payout. 35 percent hispanics here that are leagle citizen are on goverment checks. The old were coming here for job total lie no free goodies to be had south of our border, now draging there children here. What i they going to a job. Nope. 2 non citizens california have a child here both parents then can get welfare, health care, housing subisdy help on utility bills. Why would anyone stay on south side of border when all that is waiting for you. Disadvantage now to even be a citizen of this country all you get is big time taxed.

Default kills rubber, steel and is water laden

I also contribute to other forums... A .VW guy (fuel injection) was sitting there making all kinds of unsupported claims for E-85...I basically wrote what I'm writing now. He argued and went quiet. A year later he was back....NO E-85 anymore ....destroyed the fuel system. Megabux.

"Your car, and ALL the rubber in the fuel system was not designed for e-85, nor the liner in your fuel tank. " E-85 dissolves EPDM rubber.
"E-85 is hydroscopic.. it will suck TREMENDOUS amounts of water into your fuel system via the vented filler cap and from underground tanks, as well as all the junk in these tanks that is water soluble ."
The steel fuel Lines are designed for GASOLINE....not for WATER.
Alcohol is also GALVANIC insofar as mixed with water it is conductive and corrosive and run 12volts thru it, pulls the ions out of the steel lines....YIKES!

Me...I can't even stand the E-15 were forced to buy now!

Unkahal
