BUT it looks like you'd have to tweak to get around the parking brake wheel support.
Before I modified, and reversed, my center support to face forward, for use with my Richmond 6-seed I was considering modifying my crossmember to use a tranny mount on the aft side of the crossmember.... similar to what you did.
My plan was to weld a plate onto the aft side, bolt on a tranny mount, then a plate similar to yours, on the lower side of the tranny mount, to hold the exhaust..it would then have the rubber tranny mount to isolate the exhaust from crossmember. I hope that's making sense.
AS FAR AS 63 SUPPORT:
By the way, you can see how the 63 mount here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...post1597664818
You'd be mounting it on the aft side of crossmember, and you may be able to do this easy if you can work around the parking brake wheel support.
I also like that mount, but I need to touch, get measurement, test fit, etc……
I want the exhaust to have some movement, but no vibration noise, I’m taking my U-bolts off for my test drive this weekend, if not raining. My bottom plate will hold the exhaust in place allowing some give.
Good idea on the u-bolts. That'll be good for a while.
As expensive as that 63 mount I would have probably fabricated my own with generic parts from the parts store. I'd hate to cut up a 150 dollar part if it's not exact.

my recollection is that the 700R4 tailshaft hsg is attached with 4 bolts, like the TH350. I think I modified the TH350 dual exhaust bracket to work with my 700R4. but that was over 10 yrs ago, cutting, welding, using small pieces of steel to fab something up. bolted the bracket to the 700R4 trans. I think I had to do most of the work on the pass side of the bracket to work with the severe turn to get the exh pipe through the factory trans cross member and clear that corner of the trans pan. the exh pipes are u-bolted (saddle clamps) to this trans bracket.
ETA: i'm sure a C3 TH350 trans bracket is cheaper than anything 1963 Corvette.
Jag1050 Just curious. How did that 63 center exhaust mount end up working?

I went with a purchased (tubing) cross-member and just used muffler hangers/clamps. Worked fine...looks clean. Just make sure that you coat/paint the bare metal parts before you install them.
I changed transmissions and can no longer use the stock center exhaust holder..... gonna have to come up with some center exhaust support now.... looking around I ran into this.

Now researching putting on headers and changing out the exhaust system, any recommendations??
That's good to know. If I can snake that tube through the passenger side hole around the 200-4R this sounds like the hot ticket. I am actually a little impressed that it supports them well.

The pads are. 2 3/4” long x 1 1/4” wide and we’re about 1/4” thick. They’re just isolator’s against vibration. But they are tough rubber.
same material used on exhaust pipe hangers.
Hmmm.... well, I got one of those tough rubber exhaust hangers about 7 inches long.
I am going to attach it to the crossmember like those 74-79 "sideways" holders. I'm planning to flip the center exhaust mount from my 68 and attach it, upside down, to the backside of the crossmember, with the 1/4" "tough rubber" between the holder and the bracket. I can then use the regular U-bolts (like the 74-70 sideways holders) to hold everything place.
Don't see why It wouldn't work if it worked on the 74-79s.... If I can snake the exhaust around the 200-4R then that's my plan and already have the "tough rubber" contraption.

Well, after I modified my crossmember; I then fabricated my exhaust pipe holder fashioned on the 74-79 center supports with the rubberized "backing" and bolted onto the crossmember.

Here is how it looks.... I will keep an eye on it and replace those 2 bolts with some Grade 8 puppies since I will removing it to paint it. I also have a new 4 foot piece of 3"x 3"x 1/8" thick rectangular tube to make a whole new crossmember and get rid of this mutilated monstrosity (strong enough but looks like crap )
