Do I have the correct heads?

I was hoping to see if any expert knew if my '68 L-36 has the correct heads. They are apparently stamped with '69 #'s but I didn't know if they put those in late production '68's. The stamp is 3931063 and the code date is G 9 8 with PASS and GM3T also on the head. The car is the 27,770 one built in 1968 out of 28,566 and has a body build date on the trim tag of M03 (Aug). 30 years ago when I had the heads sent in to be serviced, I did not bother checking the numbers, assuming I would get those same exact ones back. Every site I go to says these numbers are for 1969 production L-36 and other applications.

Your heads are probably original to the car. The NCRS Judging Guide says that 3931063 head casting has appeared on cars built as early as March 1968.

and didn't heads use A for January? would make the heads July 9 castings.

So your heads are3-1/2 weeks older than build date. Right on the money date-wise.
