Lately my '77 has started pulling to the left when the brakes are applied. I plan on looking closely at the right front caliper thinking maybe it's leaking fluid on to the disk although I haven't seen any evidence of a leak - nothing on the garage floor and the MC is full. I'll replace the flex brake line while I'm there in case it's collapsed internally. I'll look at pad wear but I'm not expecting to see an issue there. I'm leaning toward just opening the caliper up and rebuilding it. Anything else I should be looking at that might likely be causing the problem?
Hi, it might be the left caliper pistons that doesn´t go all the way back when u take ur foot off the brake pedal. Brake pads r closer to the left rotor than the right rotor. So when u hit the brake pedal the left pads grab on to the rotor earlier than the right pads. Just guessing, happend to my old Volvo a few years ago. Had to massage and lube the pistons so they moved freely.
Good luck

Honestly, I'd pull both calipers on the front and get them rebuilt along with new rotors and pads. If a piston is binding on one side, chances are the other side isn't too great either. A little bit extra money, but brakes are a safety item that you shouldn't go cheap on - just my opinion anyway...
Pulled the line to the RF caliper. Cut it open to have a look. I've never seen what a brake line that is collapsed internally looks like but I imagine this is it. Gonna replace all four, bleed to replace all the fluid and hopefully call it good. Thanks redkenyan and jpatrick for the responses. I'll get back to confirm if the problem is solved.
Just to close this out, replaced all four flex hoses - and the LF steel brake line, the flare fitting was buggered up and rounded off when I tried to remove it. Bled the system, put two quarts of DOT 3 through it to flush it. Used my Motive pressure bleeder, so easy. Car stops straight and true again.
That was one ugly looking brake line. It was also good to replace all 4 hoses. If one looks like that, the other 3 may probably be about the same, or sometime soon.
