Yes. If you don't keep the bottom bolt or stud in it's going to be a pain to align the pulley with the holes again. The belt isn't very tight and isn't adjustable but is there for a backup so you don't loose the waterpump if the alternator or alt belt fails. Some don't bother with the belt at all but then if the alternator belt fails, you can't make it home and will overheat really fast.
That happened to me when the alternator mounting bolts sheared. What is the name of that belt, I see it in the AIM but I cant find a part number
I checked my belt (1969 427/390 with PS and no air) and the numbers are not visible other than GM. I think if you go to Ernie at Willcox or C/C they have the stock belt. I believe I got mine from Ernie but it was probably 5 years ago and the only thing my old mind remembers is the alt belt and A.I.R. pump belt are both 31 inches and interchangeable but can't remember the pump belt.

That belt is stuffed now that you've twisted it like that. I ran without that belt for some time, but started using it again when I had an issue at one point with the alternator throwing belts! As already stated, loosen the pulley to get the belt on.
