76 Throttle Cable

Hi all, I'm trying to install a throttle cable on my 76. I got one from Eckler's and it came with a rubber seal that I'm assuming goes between the firewall end cable snap connector and the firewall. I'm having trouble getting the snap connector to snap in place when I use the seal; I'm wondering if the rubber seal is even needed with a 76. Can anyone confirm it? Thanks.

I had the same problem with my 75 and the rubber seal, I ended up not using it, and everything seems ok

Ok, thanks. I am having them send me a new one; If the problem persists, I will go without using it; It's weird, I never had this problem in the past.

The replacement from Ecklers worked out fine; I was able to install the throttle cable with the rubber seal attached
