I am troubleshooting some Crossfire idle issues-a question:
The Coolant Temperature Sensor on the from of the engine...in addition to providing temp data to the ECM, it also runs the temp gauge on the dash...right??? Or to put it another way, if the gauge works and I have no fault code, the sensor is working, right?
The sensor for the gauge is in the drivers side head. The sensor at the front of the engine is for the ECM. Fan sensor is down by the starter. Most idle issues are caused by vacuum leaks and exhaust leaks.
Check the shafts of the throttle bodies to make sure they are not so worn out that there is any play in them. I have plans to remove both TBI's on mine and have them bushed because they can be moved ever so slightly. This is a vacuum leak in the system and causes erratic idle issues.
