Fuseable link issues
Gurus help please. 1974 coupe. Had torn out interior,
dynamat, new carpet, etc. put it back together and had
a lazy headlight. Replaced al hoses, both actuators and
1 relay. Headlights now work good. Throughout this I must have turned the headlights on and off, with engine both on and running 50 times...no problems except the lazy one I was
working on. Get everything finished, watched my headlights go up and down properly enough times to get a warm and fuzzy over a beer..
next day: come out, do a few more times, kill the engine and
poof; smoke and no power. Found the fuseable link by the
alternator toast. Replaced it, ran the car 10 minutes, then turned in the lights and poof, smoke no power.
car will run and run until I turn the lights on, keep in mind, the day before I must have turned them on/50 times. What on
earth suddenly happened? And bubba has been all over this car.
