I would get your headers ceramic coated. Its usually around $350 for a long tube set
The other solution is using hood vents above the headers. Even the small 66 big block hood vents work
If the headers are new or in very good shape or what you want from here forward getting them coated is a good idea. If those conditions are not the case then wrapping may be your best option.
My electric radiator cooling fans with an optional on switch in the cabin do a very good job pushing the hot air out the vents. I can feel it when they are on. I have ceramic coated headers for side pipes and it still gets up to 160* or so under the hood. So hot under there is normal I would say.
My 77 has ZERO heat transfer into the car. I am constantly amazed when people talk about heat in a C3 Corvette. But.....you have to at least have the car equipped with what Chevy put into the car to prevent heat....and that includes the horseshoe foam collar over the transmission, the rubber seal around the back of the hood to prevent engine compartment heat from traveling straight into the windshield wiper bay...and then into the cabin. You also need some insulation in the car......which I have Lizard Skin on the inside of the cabin, as well as Lowes Reflectix under the jute backed carpet. You also need good seals on the heater box valves and Astro Ventilation valves. With ALL of that in my car,....I cannot even feel heat off the uncoated stainless headers, which are six inches or less away from my right foot on the gas pedal......NO HEAT. Now.......I also do not have fantasy expectations that when driving on a 90 degree day, with the windows down and T-tops off, that its going to be 60 degrees in the seat. Its hot out. In an open car.....it will be hot. SO WHAT! Enjoy the summer in the wind.
What I sure as hell don't want is to wind the windows up, put the T-tops on, and ride around a C3 Corvette that way......just because I can't handle some warmth. Get over it.

Since I put the foam collar on I have the same results with no change in engine temp.
