was just wondering has anyone tried a bump & steer kit on a C3 ,and if so did it make much difference ,since we are on the subject has anyone tried steroids steering mods also on C3
I would say unless you have lowered your car from stock specifications, there is no point in installing a kit.
Installing a front spreader bar might be a better investment.
I did the bump steer kit and got my front end to nearly "ZERO". You never can get Zero. I felt like it was a real improvement when you are driving on the edge like a 4 wheel drift. You can then make very predictable steering inputs as your car changes from understeer to oversteer. Going way up on the front spring rate is also good, because you don't have the big changes as the wheel doesn't have as much vertical movement.
I drove around with 550# shorter springs for the first 20 years on my vette. Now for street driving I have 650# semi coil over QA1's with dual adjust and a 1 1/8th front sway with an extremely lightened front end.
When I lived in Virginia Beach, one of the on ramps for I-64 had a really bad bump in it while you were turning. The bump steer was very noticeable. Got a set of the Vette Brakes bump steer blocks and installed them. Made a pretty big difference. Too bad that Vette Brakes is out of business now.
I had the steroids installed a couple of months ago. What a great improvement and I should have done that many years ago. No more bump steer, tracks and steers like my 2016 vette. Well worth the investment.
