Default Motor mount question

Just dropped in my new engine w/200-4r tans. Having hard time lining up trans mount to crossmember which is a BowTie Overdrive one. Engine mounts dropped right in.I've adjusted the trans mount as much as I could. My question , is there any wiggle room if I loosen bolts to the block on the mounts?. I dont remember if there was when I put them on.Thanks

It's not a perfect world for 40 year old vette frames. Stuff sags and warps with time. I did a 700r4 that didn't match up no matter how hard I pried. The cure was to elongate the tranny cross member center mounting holes and call it good.

I will be following this post with great interest since I am having the same problem. In my case, the space between the engine mounts and the transmission mount is about 3/4" too short and I already elongated the bolt holes on the transmission mount as Gskull suggested. This offset the engine/transmission back and the driveline is too long with the transmission being back. The driveline is difficult to install and can only be installed if I take the caps off two of the trunnions. I will have to shorten the driveline unless I find the cause. I have the original 454 with a Muncie that isn't fitting the stock mounts.

I have never personally ran a body shop frame alignment table. We had one at our shop and this older guy could tweak modern cars back to blue print specs, clear through wrecked tube frame race cars. If you are off by 3/4 inches causing the drive line to be too long. A. It might be fixable on a framing machine. B. you need a new frame. C. You might consider one of the new tube type c-3 vette replacement frames,
